Ring Sizing

Helpful Tips

Here are some useful tips to help you establish your ring size.  This information is for guidance only and Ellimonelli cannot be held responsible if a ring size you’ve selected doesn’t fit upon receipt.

  • Select one of your own rings that properly fits the intended finger. Use a simple plain band such as a wedding ring or similar to determine your size. Avoid using a ring with a stone or gem adornment as this will cause the shank to lift and may distort the measuring process.
  • Place the ring over the circles of a printed scaled ring chart (download from the internet), matching the inside edge of the ring to the circle nearest in size. This measurement refers to the inside diameter of the ring.
  • We've provided approximate mm ring diameter measurements alongside the MelanO European sizes as well as the corresponding UK sizes to assist. These measurements are approximate and therefore not exact.
  • If your ring size falls between two sizes, then it may be prudent to order the larger size.
  • If two sizes seem to fit, then once again select the larger size.
  • If you are considering a deep ring, for example 7mm rather than 3mm deep, then consider moving up a size for comfort.
  • Your ring should feel perfect when you slip it onto your finger, snug enough so that it won’t slip off yet loose enough to slide over your knuckle.
  • When measuring your finger, the best results are achieved at the end of the day when your hands have warmed up. Also take the weather into consideration as your finger size will change as the weather changes.
  • This tip also applies to your hands/fingers as they are generally not quite the same size. If you’re planning to wear your ring on both hands, then measure to fit comfortably on your dominant hand/fingers.
  • We would recommend measuring 2-3 times just to ensure you get the same measurement/ring size and that you are satisfied with the outcome.
  • We suggest not using a length of string to measure your finger(s) as the string can stretch and give an incorrect measurement.
  • To  be absolutely sure, we recommend that you visit your local jeweller to confirm your correct ring size.  Always good to know in any event!
